Intelligent imagination having fun and being mischievous delivered with a photographic memory and with the energy of a nuclear reactor. Laughter derived from an 11-year kicking career in the NFL (Detroit, Buffalo, New Orleans,
Minnesota and San Diego), growing up traveling around the world and learning to be multi-lingual. Benny was an All- American soccer and football player at San Diego State University
and Orange Coast College. Benny has also played professional soccer and racquetball and has won state and national championships in handball.
A graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Journalism, Benny has succeeded in the business world endorsing and owning products while a professional athlete and comedian. Benny made an easy transition from an NFL career to a stand up comic “I’ve already been booed by 80,000 people before, what’s a couple of hundred at a comedy club.”
As a comedian Benny’s list of television credits include Tonight Show, David Letterman Show, Good Morning America, World News Tonight, Comedy Central, HBO, Vh-1, Galavision “Que Loco”, Telemundo “Loco Jam”.
Movie credits include North Dallas Forty, Two Minute Warning, Semitough, Against All odds. The Betsy, Best of Times, Shadow Force etc.
As a sportscaster Benny has announced NFL games for ESPNInternational, CBS Sport’s Westwood One Radio and Direct TV Latin America. His credits include 8 Super Bowls, AFC and NFC Championship games, World Cup of Soccer,
Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl,
WTA and ATP tournaments, Wimbledon, French
Open and U.S. Open in Tennis.
In boxing the list includes over 500 televised fights in Spanish and English as a play by play, color commentator and interviewer.
As a writer Benny was the editor of Mundo Deportivo a monthly Spanish Sports Magazine with a distribution of 3.5 million. His comedic material is often quoted in books, magazines, newspapers and web pages worldwide.
Benny did the morning show for 7 years on KPLN 103.7 FM, The Planet in San Diego. Benny mixed sports humor, observational comedy and bi-lingual abilities to make his mark with his San Diego and Orange County listeners.
